We are seeking 4 youth support workers to work with hard to reach young people in communities, in particular young people identified as at risk of engaging in acts of serious youth violence and community based anti-social behaviour.

The Responsive Community Engagement Team (Re-CET) will work flexibly across the borough in a range of settings including street based practice, with the purpose of building strong relationships and delivering youth work programs to hard to reach young people aged 10 – 19 (25 SEND). At the same time the team will work closely in partnership with communities and other agencies to establish multifaceted youth provisions that have potential for sustainability after the funding term ends.

A creative and dynamic individual, under the direction of the Re-CET Team Leader you will support the design and development of youth work provisions that are relevant to the interests of the young people whilst still meeting their needs successfully. An ability to listen to young people and establish rapport is essential to this role. You need to able to successfully work within a close team, with other agencies and work off your own initiative. You will be working in setting that requires confidence in engaging young people who may be cautious of professional services and be able to work with young people without judgement.

Thsese roles require reliability, creativity and flexibility as key strengths in your practice. With a level three in youth work or equivalent experience you will have the skills and knowledge to understand the challenges and barriers young people face in their lives.

These posts require you to work evenings and weeken, to include detached youth work practice.
