Re-CET Team Leader (Youth Work)

Grade/Salary: ME11 £32,637 - £35,025 per annum

Fixed term until 31/03/2020

Externally funded post: Early Intervention Youth Funding until March 2020

We are seeking an exceptional youth and community work practitioner to lead a small team to develop work with hard to reach young people in communities, in particular young people identified as at risk of engaging in acts of serious youth violence and community based anti-social behaviour.

The Responsive Community Engagement Team (Re-CET) will work flexibly across the borough in a range of settings including street based practice, with the purpose of building strong relationships and delivering youth work programs to hard to reach young people aged 10 – 19 (25 SEND). At the same time the team will work closely in partnership with communities and other agencies to establish multifaceted youth provisions that have potential for sustainability after the funding term ends.

A creative and dynamic qualified youth worker you will be able to design and develop youth work provisions that are relevant to the interests of the young people whilst still meeting their needs successfully. User voice and co-design of programs with young people is essential to this role. You will confidently lead a team of 4 substantive youth workers encouraging individual and collective practice through reflective supervisions and well planned team objectives.

We require a strong leader with strengths in both youth and community engagement; an experienced professional able to build excellent relationships with all stakeholders involved in the teams work. In this role you will work in a multiagency context co-located in the family and adolescent service and working closely with the Contextual Community Engagement Manager.

This role requires evening and weekend working which will include detached  practice
